Overview

Supports centralized and decentralized monitoring

ApexPro can be used effectively for either centralized or decentralized monitoring. Because telemetry data is accessible enterprise-wide, patients can be placed flexibly throughout the organization while being monitored with ApexPro. Nurses are freed to focus on patient care with the confidence that their patients are receiving continuous, quality monitoring. Whether you choose centralized or decentralized monitoring, ApexPro can help support your hospital protocol for continuous patient surveillance.

Flexible, scalable and reliable

ApexPro offers a wireless patient monitoring system operating with 25 KHz channel spacing within the 420.025 to 459.975 MHz frequency range.

The system operates with a custom-designed infrastructure and filtering tailored to each hospitals unique RF environment and is designed to be fully redundant helping to protect against signal interference and dropout.

With the CARESCAPE Telemetry T4 Transmitter and the CARESCAPE Network, you can monitor up to 438 patients across the coverage area depending on how many frequencies are available within the country to use for medical telemetry. This accommodates today’s requirements and helps ensure capacity for future expansion.

Access to clinical data

With ApexPro, vital patient details are available through a variety of information viewing devices to enable constant vigilance and workflow flexibility. When clinical intelligence can be accessed in so many convenient ways, caregivers are empowered to respond quickly to critical situations and take appropriate action.

In Combination Mode, a Dash* monitor at the bedside can display ApexPro telemetry waveforms alongside other vital signs, saving the time and inconvenience of disconnecting and reconnecting the patient to telemetry. In Rover Combo Mode, a wireless Dash monitor and ApexPro telemetry together create a powerful mobile monitoring solution.

Benefits

ApexPro provides exceptional detection and analysis of patient data to help you fully and accurately monitor your patients’ status

  • ApexPro uses the GE EK-Pro* clinical algorithm, which processes and analyzes four independent, simultaneous ECG leads. Plus, an innovative Smart Leads Fail feature helps to reduce false ECG alarms

  • With GE EK-Pro, ApexPro supports advanced atrial fibrillation detection and alarming

  • ApexPro has the capability to monitor two V-leads on each patient

  • Pace detection across two vectors improves the system’s ability to see and recognize a wide variety of pacemakers

  • Longer operation time than average length of patient stay (3-4 days). ECG only (110 hours with 2 AA batteries) or ECG and SpO2 (50 hours with 2 AA batteries)

  • The flexible design of ApexPro allows each transmitter to monitor continuously ECG and SpO2 when needed

Technology

Innovative parameter technology

  • GE EK-Pro* four lead arrhythmia analysis provides detection of lethal and advanced atrial fibrillation detection and alarming. Early and accurate identification of AFib may help prevent this arrhythmia from becoming chronic.

  • Dual V-lead monitoring allows caregivers to be vigilant for both arrhythmias and ST segment changes through a better picture of the patient’s heart.

  • Dual vector pace detection ensuring an accurate  pace detection

Excellent infrastructure technology

  • Flexible: GE delivers “coverage area” rather than “infrastructure equipment” and can scale to cover up to 28.000 m2

  • The ApexPro telemetry infrastructure is custom designed for your unique RF environment meeting the specific RF regulatory requirements within your country and facility

  • Scalable: ApexPro and the CARESCAPE network can accommodate up to 438 CARESCAPE telemetry T4 transmitters in one installation, but is limited by the number of RF frequencies available for medical telemetry usage in a specific country and hospital.

  • ApexPro operates within the Frequency Range: 420.025 to 459.975 MHz.

  • Dependable: Quad-diversity antenna infrastructure searches four separate antenna fields each second for the best signal from each patient
