Understanding the proper skills and techniques required to obtain quality mammograms is imperative for all mammographers. This program presents an overview of the mammographic imaging components, reviews the criteria for obtaining optimal craniocaudal (CC) and mediolateral oblique (MLO) views, and explains the concepts of the posterior nipple line (PNL) rule. Compression analysis of the CC and MLO also is addressed.
