By the end of this program, the viewer should be able to: 

  • Explain how improvements in technology over the years have changed the American Cancer Society’s  (ACS) recommendations for breast cancer screening. 
  • Explain how the development of elastography is overcoming a limitation of ultrasound.
  • Discuss the potential benefit of stereoscopic digital mammography and how this technology may help  overcome a limitation of two-dimensional (2D) mammography. 
  • Discuss the potential application of magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) for breast  disease.
