By the end of this program, the viewer should be able to:

  • Explain the nature of the disease processes of multiple sclerosis and how it affects the central nervous system (CNS).
  • Describe the four courses of disease that multiple sclerosis patients can expect, each of which might be mild, moderate, or severe.
  • Discuss the anatomical regions of the body that are most affected by multiple sclerosis and why.
  • Explain the most common characteristics of multiple sclerosis and who gets MS.
  • Describe how magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has enhanced the diagnosis and treatment of multiple sclerosis for patients and doctors.
